Keep On Dancing!

Meaning of "Keep On Dancing" Here

Shawna Zimmerman, the director of The DA Dance Center and D’Ann’s daughter, began dancing at the age of 2, joining classes with the children of the Duane Dancers while their mothers rehearsed. She is trained in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, and pom. Her love for dance has taken her to Spain, London, Mexico, the Bahamas, and across the U.S., doing what she loves most.

Shawna has danced for the Golden State Warriors' “Warrior Girls,” the San Francisco 49ers' “GoldRush,” and the Oakland Raiders' “Raiderettes,” where she served as choreographer and coordinator for 20 years. Her experience includes performing at three Super Bowls, and she even earned a Super Bowl ring during her time with the 49ers! Shawna has also worked with the United Spirit Association and performed at major events like the American Bowl, World Cup soccer games, NBA playoffs, and San Francisco’s Black and White Ball.

One of her fondest memories from her time at D’Ann’s Studio of Dance is performing with the USO for service members, including shows aboard the USS Missouri and the USS Enterprise. Shawna now hopes to share her knowledge of the professional cheerleading world with the next generation of dance team members.

D’Ann Harvey is trained in ballet, tap, jazz, and acro, having started dancing at the young age of 2½. By 14, she turned professional with the Duane Dancers, touring across the U.S. and internationally. Throughout her career, she’s had the opportunity to work with numerous industry professionals, opening for stars like Tom Jones, Charo, the Smothers Brothers, and John Davidson—big names of their time! Today, D’Ann continues to play a key role behind the scenes at The DA Dance Center.

In 1978, D’Ann Harvey founded D’Ann’s Studio of Dance, driven by her passion for dance and a dream to share it with her community. What began in a small, one-room studio—home to many disco classes in true '70s fashion—grew over the years into D’Ann’s Academy of Dance. It later evolved into what is now known as The DA Dance Center.
